My New Toy!…the Canon S95

For those who really know me, it would not come to a big surprise that I’d be taking a picture at “the next” event with a new camera. I would, of course, get the typical heckle: “Another one?!” “How many cameras do you have?!” “Did you really need that one?!” As a result of these perpetual comments, I’ve also learned to develop selective hearing. :P Ever since I bought my first digital camera (Nikon Coolpix 5400) in 2003, the improvement of technology always seemed to get the better of me!

Speeding you up-to-date, I had recently acquired the Canon S95. Finally! An affordable, pocket-sized point & shoot camera that can shoot in a RAW format, take HD video (720p) and still have SLR functions. Of course, I don’t expect much from the SLR functions but at least they are there. This post is not really an in-depth review about the camera. If you want one, you can go here: Digital Camera Resource. This post is merely a gratitude for Canon’s technology <sigh!> I wish I worked on commission.

So here are a few shots I took recently. Enjoy!

MY BROTHER-IN-LAW’S BIRTHDAY: Indian Restaurant

MY WIFE’S RECENT BIRTHDAY (this past Monday!)

George Brown College’s “The Chef’s House“: An exquisite restaurant where students learn how to work in a restaurant environment from hospitality to being a chef. A must-try!

SCARBOROUGH TOWN CENTRE
They had just renovated it. Thought it be a great photo opp.

BUDGET NIGHT
Just this past Tuesday night, the company I design for (CICA) put together a commentary about the recent federal budget, just minutes after it had been announced. Although laying out the manuscript didn’t take long, the onus was on the authors who had to write and finalize the manuscript; ensuring that each detail of the budget had not been missed. We didn’t get out of the office until the wee small hours of the morning. SO, instead of driving home half-awake (or half-asleep) endangering the safety of other drivers – let alone my safety, CICA was gracious enough to provide a room for me at the Renaissance Hotel at the Rogers Centre.
